About Baking & Cake Rings

A cake ring has no base. You set it on a plate or a cake board and build the cake layer by layer inside the ring, which gives perfectly straight sides and a clean finish – that is where it differs from a springform tin, which carries the batter while it bakes but leaves a side that slopes slightly.

The rings are stainless steel with a smooth edge and are both oven and freezer safe. The same ring therefore works for a baked cake, a mousse cake that sets in the fridge and an ice cream cake.

Eight sizes

The rings run from 14 to 28 cm in diameter, all 6 cm tall: 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 and 28 cm. The number of servings is stated on each product page – 28 cm serves 12–16 and is the size for party cakes, while 14 and 16 cm suit a smaller dessert.

There is also a set of 14 round cutters here, for anyone who needs several small diameters for cake bases and petits gâteaux.

How to create a base

Set the ring on a plate with baking paper underneath. Lift the ring away gently once the cake has set. If it is going in the oven, the ring works directly on the tray.
